Worship at Severn

Every church gathering at Severn involves a time of worship. For us this means enjoying the presence of God whilst our bands lead us in music and in singing songs that are written by popular songwriters, or by our bands themselves.

It doesn’t matter whether you are exploring faith or already count yourself a follower of Jesus, you will be able to join in as much or as little as you like, with lyrics projected onto our large screens.

Bands at Severn Vineyard

Fires Burn

Bringing a fresh, heavy rock sound to contemporary Christian worship, Fires Burn are passionate about putting a new twist on the church worship experience whilst still creating space for people to engage and respond on a personal level. They are currently comprised of six members, with Christian Cunningham on guitar and vocals, Kevin Lark on drums, Stuart Paton on bass, Esther Chidloe on vocals and Michelle Cunningham and David Lancaster on keys and vocals.

In talking about their vision for worship, Christian says “Bristol is a city that owns the alternative elements of music as a fundamental facet of its culture, and we naturally embody that, creating a sound and atmosphere that is unique to the worship gatherings we lead. Our hope is that this serves to draw more people in to be able to worship God authentically and in their own way during our services”.

BAND 13 are made up of Jason (Drums), Vicki (Vocals), Becky (Keys and Vocals), Gareth (Bass and Vocals), Sam (Lead Guitar) and Jay (Acoustic Guitar and Vocals). They are passionate about creative, authentic worship.

Jay says, "It is our experience that being part of a band that meets up regularly, shares life and looks out for each other creates a trusting and supportive environment in which to worship God, practice and create.  This helps us to challenge and push each other; encouraging collaborative creativity as a whole band. It helps us to be inspired, so as to help inspire, as part of the Severn Vineyard worship team. We also love pizza and Sam has the heaviest pedal board in the world!"
