There is a fantastic student community at Severn, drawn from both local universities and beyond, with a heart to be community together and make a difference on their campus.
The student year has a varied rhythm, from the fun of Freshers season where we look to go out together every week after church, to the intensity of exam season where we look to support & pray for each other, ending the year with the opportunity for mission trips and getting together at festivals in the summer! In between, there are fun socials, opportunities to serve the city and serve other students and weekends away.
This year, as well as serving wider church activities, there has been a particular focus on the biblical call to justice, investing time with organisations who work towards this across the city; particularly partnering with “Just Love” - a new initiative in Bristol recognised by the Student Union, which has the purpose of galvanising students to make a practical difference in their city.
‘I joined Severn Vineyard as a fresher and have loved being part of the church ever since. Every time I walk into a service I feel valued and part of a family.’ – Bex
We are also partnering with Fusion and are looking to connect with other students both locally and across Europe with the ‘Escape & Pray’ initiative, and with Student Link Up - helping students connect to local church in the season of life when many turn their back on faith.

‘What I love about the students at Severn is how welcoming and friendly they are, they’re always up for a laugh and always game for the pub. It’s been so great to have a community like that around me while I’ve been studying. I believe that the friendships I’ve found here will way outlast my 3 years studying.’ – Sarah
