Baby Jesus is born (Luke 2) - 22 November 2020

Here are some ideas that you could do with your children at home, that link the children’s everyday experiences to the Bible. As you play or create, you can talk about what happened in the story of Christmas, when Jesus was born.

You could watch this video of the story:

Let’s Pretend

Why not put on your own nativity at home. Get the tea towels, get the baby, get the towels and enjoy acting out this incredible story of love together.

Nativity stones

Feeling creative- Make some story stones to retell the nativity story. Reuse them every year to continue the tradition or make a set as a gift for someone else to retell the nativity story too.

Please follow this link for more info.

Baby Jesus craft

nov 22 pic 3.png

Handprint Jesus in a manger craft, use card or felt for the body and face and then you could use sticks, wool or matchsticks for the straw. Maybe you could send it in the post to someone who needs to hear about the love that is the season of Christmas.

We get presents at birthdays and Christmas and other celebrations. It is nice to give gifts to people too. God gave us Jesus as a gift to show us that God loves us so much! Thank you God, that at Christmas when we open our presents we can remember that you love us so much!

A question: What’s your favourite gift?

Jesus was a gift from God to us. He was given to us to show us how much God loves us and to help us to be closer to God. Jesus was a teacher, a friend, a healer, a Son, a leader, a light, a shepherd, a King and a gift. BUT what a strange place for a gift to be born, in a smelly manger, where the animals eat and poo. He was born in an unlikely place to show that you don’t have to have everything to still be amazing. This gift of love, Jesus, was born in a smelly, stinky stable but He was going to change the world and be an incredible gift to everyone who meets Him. You might not have much or you might think you can’t do a lot but with Jesus you are amazing and you can do awesome, incredible things!! What amazing things are you going to do with Jesus this week?

Pray!
