Here are some ideas that you could do with your children at home, that link the children’s everyday experiences to the Bible. As you play or create, you can talk about what happened in the story.
You could watch this video of the story:

PROGRAMME
Let’s Pretend
Have a love banquet for Valentines Day…. Either for your family or with pretend food and teddies.
Game - hook a heart
Make some hearts out of pipe cleaners, put them in a bowl of water. Get a fishing rod or string and paper clip for a hook and ‘hook a heart’… if you have a magnetic fishing rod, you could always add some paperclips onto the hearts.
Craft
Pointillism using cotton buds.
Make hearts using lots of dots, use red, purple, pink coloured paint.
Prayer
Jesus loves his children so much and sometimes we feel like we can’t do a lot. BUT one thing we can always do is pray! And prayer is so powerful. Who are you going to pray for today?

A thought: A letter!
John was one of Jesus’ friends. He spent a lot of time with Jesus and saw that Jesus was all about loving others. He wrote encouraging letters to people to show them Jesus’ love. Can you write a letter to one of your friends this week to show them Jesus’ love by encouraging them?
Pray!
