Explore more with us about Jesus

We’ve been spending the first part of 2022 immersing in Mark’s gospel story of Jesus and finding out more about who he is, what he did, and what impact it has had on people from different cultures in the 2000 years up to today.

You can browse our box set of talks and discussions here.

We’ve also got a related series of our favourite Jesus stories here.

 Jesus and Easter

One of the best ways to find out about Jesus and why he is so important to us is to look at the Easter story. We celebrate this every year, and these are some of the ways we got deeper into what it means this year.

Reflections

Lectio Divina - Colossians 1:15-23a is the focus for this "divine reading" meditation in which we look at the Bible for transformation, not information. Claire Lynch leads through an encounter with God, reading, reflecting, praying and contemplating with no agenda or anticipated outlook in mind. It's not about reading this passage, but letting it read you. If you would like to read the instructions for doing this, you’ll find them here.

Lord’s Supper text- and audio-guided meditation suitable for doing on your own or in small groups. Find the script and audio here.

Lent - Getting ready for Easter

Lent is six weeks of preparation for Easter. It's a special time of year when we can make room for God to grab our attention, guide, comfort or challenge us.

As a church looking to boost our spiritual and emotional health, we invited everyone in 2022 to join in one or both of these rhythms of reflection:

FAST weekly - Owen Lynch shares how and why he's going to refrain from eating for a day a week in this podcast.

In our next episode… we found out how it had been going with Owen and asked Rebecca Kishtainy about her experience of fasting which has been growing and changing over a few years.

FOOD daily - Liz Nixon, Bern Leckie and others shared a daily chunk of Mark's gospel and a little food for thought.

Here are the gospel readings to listen to (read by Claire Lynch, music by Bern Leckie):
