Judges 16 - Samson - 30 August 2020
Here are some ideas that you could do with your children at home, that link the children’s everyday experiences to the Bible. As you play or create, you can talk about what happened in the story of Samson.
You could watch this video of the story:
TEACHING POINT

PROGRAMME
Let’s Pretend
Or set up your own hair dressers- mirrors, hair brushes, clips, ties, maybe you even have a wig or too (no scissors allowed though… just in case… 😊)
Cut some hair styles
Game
Try some strong man activities… how do you need to get fit or to be strong? With your grownups, try some press-ups, running on the spot, how high can you get your knees up? Star jumps, how long can you hold your arms in the air, can you think of any other ‘strength’ exercises that you can do in your households?
Craft
Make some funky hair people! Use string and cardboard tubes and googley eyes.
MESSAGE AND PRAYER TIME
Making the most of what God’s given you.
Up to 3 years old (Fruitshoots)
Thank you God that you make us all different and that we are all good at different things. Help us to be good sharers and to make other people smile.
From 3 years to Reception age (Acorns)
What are you good at? What gifts has God given you? And what can you do with them? Are you a fast runner? A creative drawer or painter? Do you like singing or dancing? Do you make other people smile when you do this? Are you helpful? Good at tidying up? Do you say nice things to people? Thank you, God that you make us all different and we are good at different things. Thank you that we can choose what we do with the things that you give us. Help us to be good sharers and to make others smile.
School years 1-6 (Hive)
A question: What gifts has God given you? And how can you share them with others?
Are you a fast runner or sporty in other ways? A creative drawer or painter? Do you like singing or dancing? Can you help others who find it difficult? Do you see where there is a need and help? Good at tidying up? Are you an encourager? Or are you good at listening to others when they need someone to talk too? Or maybe you can think of another gift that God has given you. Thank you, God that you make us all different and we are good at different things. Thank you that we can choose what we do with what you give us. Help us to be great at sharing our gifts with others and to make others smile through our gifts.
Pray!
